Bikram Posture #11 – Tree Pose

The next Bikram Yoga posture we're looking at in more detail is Tree Pose or otherwise known as Tadasana.

Tree Pose is a non-strenuous musculoskeletal balancing pose that helps improves posture and balance and increases the flexibility of the ankles, knees and hip joints.
At the same time it strengthens the internal oblique muscles and can help prevent hernias.
This posture may assist in reducing inflammation of the lower back and may also assist in arthritic, rheumatic and circulatory conditions.
Standing one legged balancing posture tips:
  • Keep knee down to open hip
  • Knee back to stretch up hip
  • Keep hips level as shoulders
  • Don't duck butt!!
