Bikram Posture #23 – Rabbit

Rabbit is a fantastic posture for balancing out the spine after the deepest backbend in the series, Camel pose. It rounds out the body for the final couple of postures.

Tips:

  • To get the proper grip in this posture cradle your heels in the palms over the towel, getting a firm grip.
  • Lower tour chin, round your shoulder, collapse your chest and curl your torso.
  • As you exhale and curl you lift your hips into the air and pull. This opens the back of the spine.

Benefits:

  • Rabbit posture improves digestion, regulates metabolism, helps insomnia and depression.
  • It also improves conditions of the sinus and can help with colds.
  • Practising rabbit stretched the whole spine and thus increases proper nutrition to the whole nervous system.
